Our core privacy philosophy: QuestDrop is a local network tool. Your files, photos, and videos are transferred directly between your devices over your own local Wi-Fi. We do not host, intercept, view, or store your files on any external cloud servers.
Welcome to QuestDrop. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how our Meta Quest application and companion web service handle your data. Because QuestDrop is designed as a local network file transfer utility, we collect and process the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to provide our service.
To allow your web browser and Meta Quest headset to discover each other, QuestDrop generates a temporary 5-digit pairing code. To make this connection work, we temporarily store the following routing data on our secure cloud database:
How it is used: This data is used exclusively to route your web browser to your Meta Quest headset over your local Wi-Fi network. This data is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
If you choose to purchase the Premium Lifetime upgrade, QuestDrop requests access to your Meta User ID.
How it is used: Your Meta User ID is processed strictly on-device using the official Meta SDK to verify your purchase receipt. We do not transmit your User ID, username, profile picture, or any other personal Meta data to our external servers, nor do we share it with any third parties.
QuestDrop facilitates the transfer of files between your computer/phone and your Meta Quest headset.
How it is used: All file transfers happen locally over your own Wi-Fi network. Your files, photos, videos, and documents are never uploaded to, routed through, or stored on our cloud servers. We have absolutely no access to the files you transfer.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We utilize Google Firebase solely as a backend infrastructure provider to temporarily host the 5-digit network pairing codes mentioned in Section 1A. Firebase does not receive your Meta User ID, your profile data, or your personal files.

Because QuestDrop transfers files locally across your own Wi-Fi router, the security of your file transfers relies on the security of your home or private network. We employ standard HTTPS encryption for the brief API calls used to generate and fetch your 5-digit pairing code from our servers.
QuestDrop is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal data from a child under 13, we will delete such information immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or Meta's developer requirements. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the QuestDrop app constitutes your acceptance of any updated terms.
